On May 22, 2025, the Grand Théâtre de Genève was bathed in the spirit of the Caribbean for an exceptional evening.

Organized by Caribaea Initiative – Switzerland, the event brought together the association’s dedicated partners and long-time supporters for a unique moment at the crossroads of lyrical art and biodiversity awareness.

In a warm and elegant atmosphere, guests first enjoyed a convivial cocktail reception, fostering exchange and connection. They then took their seats for a refined dinner inspired by island flavors, followed by an exceptional performance by soprano Jeanine De Bique.
The guest of honor for the evening, the Trinidad & Tobago-born artist captivated the audience with a recital both intimate and powerful, paying tribute to her Caribbean heritage. Dressed in a creation by Ferragamo, Jeanine De Bique embodied a graceful dialogue between cultural identity and Italian elegance.

The evening was also an opportunity to present, in concrete terms, the work carried out by Caribaea Initiative on the ground. Two members of the team, invited to the event, shared insights into the association’s projects. Bryan Leborgne, originally from Guadeloupe and currently pursuing a PhD in Martinique, spoke about his own journey—an illustration of Caribaea Initiative’s mission to support training and research in the Caribbean for over a decade.

At the close of the evening, each guest received a bottle of Ferragamo’s new fragrance, FIAMMA, as well as a Cuvée Rhum from Chantal Comte, a long-time supporter of the association.

Thanks to the involvement of attendees and the generosity of our partners—who also helped make possible a silent auction held during the event—the evening strengthened the bonds between Caribaea Initiative and its most committed supporters.
